Thank you for visiting my website, you have taken the first step to embark on your journey.
Counselling can support you to bring about change and transformation in your life. This could be around positive events such as choosing a direction or reaching your full potential. It can also help at those times when you are feeling 'a bit stuck'. You may have unresolved matters from your past which are stopping you from moving forward or maybe you are feeling really down, afraid, lost, confused, desperate, angry or overwhelmed.
Whatever you are hoping for from counselling, I would love to hear from you to discuss your requirements.
Alongside my private practice I work as a nurse in the NHS.
I chose to retrain as a nurse in my late 20's following the complicated birth of my daughter. This has then led me to where I am today, having become a counsellor. I am a parent and grandparent, and can fully empathise and appreciate the difficulties parenting and families can raise.
I like to sing and am a member of a local choir, which I enjoy; being part of a group of like minded people has been of benefit to me.
My qualifications
Diploma Children's Nurse
BSc (Hons) Community Nursing
Level 3 Award in Counselling Skills and Theory
Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
Sand Tray Training
Working with Young People (CPD)
Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to certain situations.
In counselling sessions It’s ok not to be ok, and it's ok to say so.
My approach to counselling is integrative and adapted to each client, offering a safe, confidential and professional space.
I believe that the most important element for counselling to work effectively is the relationship between client and counsellor. This relationship is an equal partnership; one that is built on honesty, trust, empathy, equality, genuineness and acceptance.
I want you to feel safe and accepted and able to be your true self in our relationship, rather than conforming to conditions placed upon you- by others, or by society.
This is your time, just for you.
My counselling space is free from distractions A place where you can relax and just be yourself
